Believe it or not Faux Cloisonné pieces look very much like real cloisonné!
Last week I attended Debbie Anderson’s Faux Cloisonné Polymer Clay class! It was both fun & very informative ~ I learned so much. I am relatively new to Polymer Clay but Debbie assured me that even with my limited skill I would be able to make a Faux Cloisonné piece …and she was right! Debbie was very patient & guided me through the process.
Surprisingly even though these pieces look very complex, they are not as difficult to make as you would think! In a nutshell, you roll the clay through a pasta machine (designated for clay only) with a texture sheet, cut a shape, add a design with craft wire, color it with mica powder & bake it. After it cools apply resin and you’re done & have a beautiful piece of cloisonné jewelry to wear!
These are the Cloisonne pieces that we made in Debbie's Class!
Debbie’s next class will be on Monday, July 9th at her Studio in
